United Medical Education’s Basic Life Support (BLS) training teaches people to identify several deadly emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, and deliver appropriate ventilations as well as using an AED early. United Medical Education’s Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) reflects science and education from the international liaison committee on resuscitation (ILCOR).

However, when learning basic life support, health care professionals quickly discover that each topic is interrelated. Because of this, United Medical Education recommends completing the training in the way it is laid out in the course, because it will help students stay organized while they learn.

It may be a good idea to earn a Basic Life Support provider card even you’re not required to be certified. Best of all, if you see someone in need on the job you’ll be able to confidently take action.
Complete Overview
We’ll go over basic CPR (including proper breaths and chest compressions) as well as the most recent standards. After finishing the lessons, you can immediately take the BLS certification tests online.
The free BLS course will be accessible to you as long as you need it. Once you’ve completed the lessons, you may either obtain your certificate online or simply keep the knowledge from the training with you to be prepared in case of an emergency.
The BLS certification coursework is intended for healthcare professionals (HCPs) and includes comprehensive BLS training on how to respond to a wide range of typical medical emergencies as a solo or group rescuer. Those who commonly use these procedures are mostly EMTs, paramedics, lifeguards, and other officials in charge of emergency response efforts.
After completing the course, anybody may obtain BLS certification. While live in-person courses are offered across the country on a regular basis and are designed using clinically approved safety procedures such as the cardiac chain of survival in mind. United Medical Education has designed a system where it can all be done online in the comfort of your home or office. Due to varying state requirements for each individual profession, the specific training may differ from one place to the next.
What is BLS Certification?
BLS certification is a series of life saving techniques used during a cardiac or respiratory emergency.
To earn your certificate from the United Medical Education (UME) does not have to be expensive or time-consuming. We provide credible and easy-to-use BLS online training that follows the ILCOR guidelines.
BLS Certification Cost
Our BLS certification training is not only convenient, but it is also cost-effective. The fee is a one-time payment of $65 that is payable immediately before the test. There are no upfront expenses or hidden charges when you begin the class. Simply pay when you’re ready to take the exam and receive immediate proof of your BLS certification.
A minimal amount of your time and money is required to obtain a BLS certification, but it may pay for itself many times over if an emergency occurs.
Completing the Class Online
The BLS certification course and training will begin with a brief explanation of each module and algorithm. You’ll be given a basic outline of what the class entails with navigation links to each section.
United Medical Education reminds students that in the event of a medical emergency in real life, the first step is to utilize basic care measures such as applying pressure to severe wounds and clearing airways. The next key stage is for rescue workers to call 911 and give CPR until help arrives.
Details of the Exam Process
The BLS test consists of 15 questions. In order to pass, you must get at least 80% on this multiple-choice exam.
At United Medical Education, if you don’t pass the exam on the first try, you may retake it as many times as needed. There is no limit to how many times a test can be taken. There are also no pop-ups asking for payment after retesting. Only when students complete the material review is it necessary to pay at United Medical Education.
BLS Recertification or Renewal
We also provide BLS renewal for healthcare professionals who have previously completed basic life support certification training and passed the test. This will let knowledgeable students fast track their education. One option is to go directly to the exam component to earn your provider card quickly.
How Do You Get a BLS Renewal?
A BLS card is valid for two years here at United Medical Education. If your BLS certification has been expired, you can still take an abbreviated review course to renew your provider card. There is no need to finish the fundamental BLS course again if your card has expired.
Is BLS Training the Same as CPR Training?
BLS training does include CPR, but it is only one part of the larger Basic Life Support curriculum. BLS certification refers to a more advanced form of CPR certification that is used by first responders, healthcare providers, and other highly qualified individuals.
A general CPR certification may not be adequate in an environment that demands Basic Life Support training. If you have any doubts, contact your company’s administrator to find out whether any certifications are acceptable.
Can You Get Your BLS Certification Online?
The American Heart Association and the Red Cross do not currently provide online-only BLS certification. However, here at United Medical Education we have built a training program that allows you to earn your BLS certification entirely online.
If you’re looking for an in-person course, it will likely be conducted in a classroom and last a total of 4 hours. A blended class may include up to 1 hour of face-to-face instruction and up to 3 hours of online study.
Here at United Medical Education the online coursework consists of a series of interactive modules that may be done at your leisure. After completing the course, you may still access the materials for reference.
The Next Step
Are you a healthcare worker who needs to get your BLS certification or renewal? Take a look around at what the BLS class entails and decide if it’s right for you. There are no responsibilities or upfront payments associated with this course. The test can be finished in an hour or less, and an accredited proof of competence is provided immediately following the exam.
What Should You Do After Getting Your BLS Certification?
Make sure you keep your BLS card in a safe place and make copies as proof of completion. Check the training materials on a regular basis and set a virtual reminder before your card’s next expiration date. You should also consider investing in an AED system since this will allow you to put your skills to good use if an emergency ever occurs on your watch. Defibrillator kits are available with everything needed to begin CPR straight away after receiving instruction.
